The Department of Graduate Convention and Exhibition Management provides graduate students with in – depth, systematic training in the planning, marketing strategies, operations and management of conventions, exhibitions and MICE events.
Through industry – academia collaborative projects and exchanges with exhibition and convention – related companies, students receive training that identifies industry problems and provides solutions at the intersection of theory and practice, and aims to enhance international research activities and capabilities by collaborating with universities, research institutes and industries worldwide.
Research opportunities include policy research, marketing research, planning and operations research, digital trends and technology research, exhibition and convention facility management, sustainability research in MICE, hospitality and tourism research, global exhibition and convention management strategic, and local MICE tourism development.
Career Exploration / Path
With the professional knowledge and practical skills gained in the program, the graduating students will be able to work in various trade fair and convention organizations, enterprises, research institutions, and public institutions in Korea and overseas.
Researchers in universities and research organizations are contributing to academic research and industry R&D.
Specific career paths are as follows :
1.Event management in the MICE Industry : This career path involves the planning, organization, and management of domestic and international trade shows, meetings, seminars, and events.
2.Management of exhibition and convention centers : Work in major domestic and international exhibition and convention centers in operations, administration, marketing, and customer service.
3.Industries related to MICE : Work in planning and organizing MICE related events in travel agencies, airlines, hotels, etc.
4.Marketing and promotions : Manage sponsoring and advertising for exhibitions and congress, or plan and implement exhibition marketing strategies for exhibitors.
5.Designing and setting up exhibitions : Work as designers or project managers for a trade show design, exhibit design and installation company.
6.Business Development for MICE : Establish and manage strategic partnerships with governments and local communities.
7.Education and Research : Work as professors or research associates in an MICE – related faculty, or conduct research on the MICE industry at an industry research institute.
8.Other related fields of work : Use the knowledge and skills learned in the Department of Convention and Exhibition Administration to work in public relations, media communications, digital marketing, logistics administration, and many other areas.
