Introduction to Major
This department aims to contribute to the development of Korea’s tourism industry by producing excellent human resources through continuous research and education, recognizing the importance of tourism as a promising industry for the future.
The department is aimed at producing tourism experts who will be employed by domestic and foreign private companies and public agencies involved in tourism.
It offers a specialized curriculum that enables students to develop practical skills such as planning, developing, promoting, distributing and managing and tourism products, as well as macro perspectives such as tourism policies, regulations and trends.
In particular, in order to help students acquire international sensitivity and practical skills, the university conducts various cooperative programs with various companies and institutions in Korea and abroad.
Therefore, as part of this educational policy, able to foster competent, creative, and internationally minded tourism professionals who will lead the Korean tourism industry in the 21st century.
Furthermore, the aim is to nurture tourism talents and realize the realization of leaders who will lead a healthy society through improving the quality of life of citizens.
Career Exploration / Path
With a broad view of people (tourists, residents, etc.), industries and communities, and an insightful understanding of their interactions, graduates of the Department of Tourism play a key role in the analysis and resolution of various tourism issues in various industries, public institutions, and academic organizations, such as the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Korea Tourism Organization, and the Culture and Tourism Policy Research Institute.
